NACAA to unveil NEW WEBSITE December 1st

NACAA to unveil NEW WEBSITE December 1st

www.nacaa.com will have a NEW Look starting December 1st.

The process of "switching on" the new site may take 24-48 hours to reach everyone across the country, but it will be functional very soon.  Our plans are to flip the switch officially on December 1, 2021.

For security reasons, you will need to create a new password for the site in order to log-in.  If you see a series of short video clips running (similar to the image above)....you'll know you are on the new site.  If you don't see the short video clips....please wait to do the new password update until the new site is viewable to you.

In the upper right hand corner - you will see a Log-in header.  Click on that - and then click on the Forgot Password link.  You will be asked for your username.  Most of you have you have used your email address as your username on the old site (but a few of you had created a different user name in the old system).  Once you enter your username - an email will be sent to the email address we have on file, allowing you to then create a new password.  If for some reason you don't remember your username - send me an email at nacaaemail@aol.com and I'll see what I can find on this end.

Upon logging in - you will first be taken to your Member Profile page.  Please make updates to your address/contact info if what we have isn't up to date.  You will also notice on this page - there are options to select what your Member Specialties are, as well as let us know if you are interested in serving as a Promotion/Tenure reviewer.  Please make sure to edit/update as many of the items as you can within the Member Profile page (Edit My Profile), as it is useful information to our National committees and other members when trying to search for you.

NACAA will be posting and emailing links to short "How-To" videos for various elements of the website.  As we enter into the new year, the award application, presentation, scholarship, Journal of NACAA and Membership Dues submission processes will be different than before.  Member Dues are still coordinated by each state association - so please contact your state leadership on the process for submitting dues.

For state leadership - if you haven't updated your State Officers or State Committee Chairs within the system - you will now have to submit those lists directly to NACAA for input by the National Office.  For security reasons - we are unable to give access to state leaders to update that information direclty on the site.  Please email those lists to:  nacaaemail@aol.com.

We hope you will enjoy the new website!  We've tried our best to make this site more user friendly and easier to find what you need...quicker.  As with any new project, there are bound to be small "glitches" that need to be "fixed".  If you find something that isn't working, or just doesn't look quite right, please let us know and we'll do our very best to get those issues resolved as quickly as possible.

Thanks for your membership in NACAA!

2021 AM/PIC Shifted to Virtual Platform

 Dear NACAA Members,

12 months ago; I was traveling home from a Face-to-Face Extension Leadership Conference in San Antonio, Texas!   Today I am writing to you from my “Home” office in northern Pennsylvania.  My extension programs have had to turn, been adapted and or shifted, just like I have heard from many of you also.

As you are all aware, our 2021 Annual Meeting and Professional Improvement Conference (AM/PIC) is scheduled in downtown Philadelphia July 4-8, 2021.  Over the last several months the NACAA Board of Directors has been monitoring the ever-changing situation with COVID-19.

With so many uncertainties at hand (the safety and well-being of our members, hotel room capacities, slow-roll out of vaccinations, time needed to plan an in-person event, travel restrictions, etc.) the decision has been made that NACAA will need to hold our AM/PIC virtually for 2021.  NACAA has been able to successfully negotiate out of our contractual obligation with the Downtown Philadelphia Marriott.

The Northeast region has done a remarkable job of planning an exciting in-person meeting, but the circumstances at hand just became impossible to fulfill that preferred method of meeting.  We wish to thank the Northeast region for bidding to host this meeting 4 years ago and do hope in the future to hold our AM/PIC once again in the Northeast when conditions improve.

Although exact details of what type of virtual platform will be utilized for the 2021 AM/PIC are still being determined, we wanted you to be aware of the decision and plan to hold the dates of July 6-9 (a shortened 3+-day event) for this year’s virtual AM/PIC.

The NACAA Board of Directors, National Committee leadership and the NE host region planning committee will have significant involvement in planning an even more robust virtual offering to you.  We do plan to implement several additional elements to this year’s platform including more interaction between members, award winner honor celebrations, presenters, and sponsors/exhibitors.  We look forward to your involvement and participation.

More details regarding registration, meeting offerings and timelines will be shared in the near future.  Until then, save the date, stay safe and continue your phenomenal role of Extension Educators to the best of your ability.  Our world is ever-changing, but if anyone can “pivot” when needed, it is you!

Thank you again for your understanding and your support of NACAA!
